Breast Increase(Breast Prosthesis)
The consumer dream of many women, the implanting of breast prostheses stopped being taboo a long time ago, mainly thanks to the development of techniques and formats of prostheses, which nowadays provide a natural and safe result.
Recommended: For women with very small, flaccid or asymmetric breasts.
Procedure: The incision is made through the areola, in the fold below the breasts or through the armpits. Depending on the case, the prosthesis shall be placed either in front of the muscle or behind it.
Scar: Scars are minimal and get hidden in the natural folds of the human body.
Type of Anaesthetic: Local with sedation, or epidural.
Duration: On average 1 hour.
Time in Hospital: Between 12 and 24 hours.
Doctor’s Word: For satisfactory results, it is necessary to consider the needs of the patient, as also his her physical condition, in order to decide which is the best incision, configuration in relation to the muscle, the model of prosthesis to be used and mainly to establish a proportional size that shall show off the beauty of the breasts.
Before the operation: All medical examinations as requested by the surgeon shall be carried out, and you must please tell your doctor about any medicine and other chemicals that you consume, everything from the Pill to antidepressants. At the moment of surgery, you shall be given an anaesthetic, and some medicines can change coagulation and lead to excessive bleeding. If you are taking medication based on acetylsalicylic acid, drugs for the treatment of influenza, appetite suppressants, ginseng or Ginkgo Biloba, stop use 14 days before surgery.
After Surgery: We recommend the use of a specific bra, this being an essential item of clothing in the first month to provide sustenance and accommodation for the new breast format. In this phase, refrain from sudden movements, do not lift your arms above your shoulders, and only sleep on your back. Normally, after the 3rd day, there is no problem in getting some sun outside your home, but always using sun block of at least FPS 30. However, for longer exposure to the sun (beaches, sunbathes), it is recommended to wait at least 90 days.
Return to Activity: Between one week and 10 days, always avoiding arm movements above the shoulders, until authorised by the doctor. The practice of exercise shall only be resumed after 30 days, with light movements on lower limbs only, and also walking. For exercise of high impact, it is advisable to wait 60 days.
